The folk of St Swithin’s Church
provided the teas for Thorley Manor Gardens opening on 14th
June by kind invitation of Anthony and Caroline Blest. The weather
was very kind: overcast and neither too hot nor wet/windy/snowy –
just right. The gardens looked their best yet and, despite clashing
events in Shalfleet, that and the reputation of Thorley teas brought
the crowds in. A record number, estimated at 240, were served but
the team in the kitchen kept up with the constant demand for fresh
pots, and clean cups and plates, ending up smiling despite the
really hot environment indoors. Sadly only the servers are shown in
the accompanying photograph. |
