Churches Together West Wight - February 2014 News Letter

It's been a really good half term for the CTWW Youth Project. The Rock Solid Club on Tuesdays at Brook is continuing to go well, with a good number of young people regularly attending. This term we have looked at how - God loves us whatever we do, Having a God shaped hole in our lives and What it means to be Loved Unconditionally! There has also been plenty of time to play some new and exciting games. It's also encouraging to have young people from the older groups helping out, planning games and really growing as leaders.

RS2 on Wednesdays at the Youth and Community Centre, Moa Place, has grown in numbers over the past few weeks with young people walking past, coming in to see what's happening and then the next week bringing siblings and friends along as well as some new people from some of the local churches. This is a really good time to chat to the young people and find out what is going on in their lives and also to practice all our pool skills!

Youth Fellowship on Sunday evenings continues to go well. This term we have discussed, The Feeding of the 5000, and spent some time talking about the Service that we are organising at 6pm on Sunday 16th March at All Saints Church,  Freshwater. It would be really great to see as many people as possible, of all ages, joining us for that worship time. We have also been making plans amongst the group about what will happen after September when some of our older members move on to university. So if you know of any young people who are in Year 9+ who are ready for a group where we discuss all sorts of issues including our faith, have plenty of fun and food, then please do let me know.

We recently had the Catalyst Weekend Away, which was run by IOW YFC and was attended by some of the young people from West Wight. Here, we looked at Psalm 138 and the young people were able to choose different seminars to attend over the weekend. I ran one on Social Media, its effect on our lives and how we should behave on social network sites. It was also a good opportunity for the young people to meet others from different parts of the Island, make new friends and also catch up with others that they already knew. For me personally, it was also a great time to get to know some of the young people better and spend quality time with them.

If youre up for praying, it would be great if you could to pray for all the groups in the CTWW Youth Project, especially for good conversations with the Wednesday night group and for the Service at All Saints which Youth Fellowship are organising on 16th March. Please also come along, support the project and join us that evening.

CTWW Youth Worker.
